Differentiating Instruction
(2 video Tapes + Facilitator’s Guide- binder) by Carol A. Tomlinson
Differentiation gets us away from “one size fits all” approach to curriculum and instruction that doesn’t fit anyone. Differentiating instruction is doing what’s fair for students. It means creating multiple paths so that students of different abilities, interests, or learning needs experience equally appropriate ways to learn.
This set (2 Tapes + Facilitator’s Guide binder) provides visual examples of how it looks when teachers, schools and districts begin a professional journey toward differentiation, and also presents opportunities for analysis of the principles and practices that support differentiated classrooms. Truly useful for individual teachers, but also a wonderful tool for whole-school PD sessions!
