Renzulli Learning System is based on the belief that

"One size does not fit all"

and these results using the Renzulli Differentiated Learning programme, certainly prove that!

RLS is a completely new adaptation of work that is based on almost 30 years of research designed to help students learn more about their own interests and talents. Taking advantage of state of the art technology, Renzulli Learning searches out an enormousamount of information on the web to find enriching, challenging differentiated enrichment opportunities for all students in their areas of interest and choice. Renzulli Learning is based on research conducted by Prof. Dr. Joseph Renzulli and Prof. Dr. Sally Reis of the University of Connecticut's Neag School of Education.Thisresearch suggests that students achieve at higher levels when they pursue topics and activities of personal interest and that enrichment can be provided to all students through the use of .Renzulli Learning

The Renzulli Learning System (RLS) is a system for: school's administration, teachers, students and parents. It is used to identify and develop the gifts and talents of all children by providing easily accessible high quality materials and resources. It is an exciting new on-line comprehensive system that matches students' abilities, interests, learning styles and preferred modes of expression to many different opportunities designed to provide enriched, challenging learning. All of the activities and options in the Renzulli Learning System are based on The Enrichment Triad Model, which has been cited as the most widely used plan for enrichment and talent development in the world. In the Renzulli Learning System, the Renzulli ProfilerTM generates an individual profile for each student. Then an individualized Enrichment Differentiation collection of Internet and downloadable resources are made available.

This is only an image of the categories available to differentiate. See demo to explore these further.

In order to accommodate for the needs of students across many different levels of academic achievement, many teachers have adopted a variety of within-classroom strategies referred to as differentiated instruction. The Renzulli Learning System can help teachers access, with minimal cost or time, a wealth of opportunities to provide appropriate differentiation activities for students of all levels of achievement and abilities.

Renzulli Learning is in use in thousands of schools around the world:

USA. France. Istanbul, Turkey.Switzerland. Jordan. United Arab Emirates. And now, Australia and New Zealand!

I'm interested. How would I use it?

SAMPLE PLAN from "Helpful Hints for Teachers" included with Renzulli plan:

Tip 7: Blending Curriculum Requirements with Student Interests

Many teachers have asked how they can use the Wizard Project Maker to accommodate strict curriculum requirements while, at the same time, supporting the differentiation theory of utilising students' interests. Here are some ideas, using the other indicated "Tip links" as resources.

The Need
Assume your curricula requires most or all students in your group, class or grade to study the same Social Studies topic at the same time - say, a sequence on Immigrants. Perhaps your required standards dictate a specific approach (such as project completion) or a specific outcome (such as scores on standardized testing), or even both.

Student Interests
The subject of Immigration is both fascinating and timely, but it will not be of equal interest to all students, of course. Fortunately, differentiation transcends mere subject matter appeal to include broader aspects of learning and expression style - and you may utilize those student preferences to help generate interest. To determine that information, you can easily run an RLS report listing which of your students have a preferred learning and expressions style. So, if you need to do a class project tied to your mandated curriculum, you can still differentiate the process and results using Renzulli Learning. See "Tip #3" for information about running reports.

Blending Need & Interest with Independent or Group Projects
Among other strategies, you may start by asking your students to search the entire Renzulli Enrichment Database vs. searching just their own enrichment activities list (see Tip #2). This will enable everyone in your class to search for resources relevant to the subject at hand simultaneously - even if individual profiles do not reflect an affinity with this particular topic. Then, based on individual or group performance interests, you may have them work independently or separate the class into groups relevant to their preferred expression and learning styles. For example, one may do an oral presentation, while others may write essays or perform a play if their preferred output is written or dramatic respectively. If some gravitate toward audio/visual expression, they might be in charge of directing and video taping that play. You may differentiate in a similar manner within their learning styles as well.

On the other hand, if you need students to each generate a single project employing a particular learning or expression style, allow them to select one of their top interests to increase their comfort in the required style. For example, if the entire class must practice writing skills, allow them to write about topics in which they are interested and have researched through Renzulli.

WORK WITH WEAKNESSES AS WELL AS STRENGTHS
In keeping with that example, teachers often ask how the system can help with weaknesses if it is primarily a strength-based tool. Consider one of our favorite case studies, featuring a child who hated to write; it was like pulling teeth to get him to do any written assignment.

Using the results of the Renzulli Profiler, his teacher determined the student's interest areas and preferred expression style were technology, science, and dramatic respectively. As a result, she asked him to type a science fiction play - on the computer (instead of long-hand) - for his class to perform, thereby incorporating all three of his preferences in order to increase his interest in the project.

The results were dramatic - in more ways than one! He wrote a 12 page play on the computer when he previously refused to write as much as a single paragraph. This in turn increased his interest in writing while developing his writing skills, which was his perceived weakness: overall, a perfect example of blending the need and interest in a project using Renzulli Learning Systems.
